Soap and Glory Vegan List

Are Soap and Glory cruelty free? the answer is yes, they do not test any of their products on animals or sell their products to China, there statement on their website says –

We understand that animal testing is a key concern for a growing number of consumers and at Soap & Glory, we can confidently state that all of our formulations are safety and efficacy tested on people. Although you might argue about that if you’d seen the condition of some of their feet. YEEEESH.

So the good news is in their own words their products are only tested on humans, now are any of their products vegan? YES! Below is a list of all their products that contain now animal derived ingredients, Soap and Glory also no longer use micro beads in their product making them also ocean friendly for all our sea life friends.

    1. Hi Erika,

I completely agree, it does make the cruelty free definition as its not tested on animals, but yes I agree that microbeads cause a huge impact on marine life, a ban has now been passed on microbeads though so they will surely be changing or coming off the shelves across all scrubs. Peace and Love.. T x

  1. Can I just ask about the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD mascara which is on your vegan list. In the ingredients it apparently contains ‘hydrolysed collagen’ which apparently comes from animal bones in a similar way that gelatin does. Do you know anything about this? Many thanks. 🙂

  2. The Soap & Glory HD Thick and Fast mascara (gold one) apparently has an ingredient called ‘hydrolysed collagen’ which an internet search suggests it comes from animal bones similar to how gelatin does. Do you know if this is the case or can there be a synthetic version? I know it’s still listed as being suitable for vegetarians on their site though. Any thoughts? Thank you. ?

    1. Hi Anna and Jasmine, Thank you for bringing this to my attention, this is why I always recommend double checking ingredients, Jasmine – Carmine is not an ingredient it’s a may contain ingredient due to them using carmine in their other products, this would be no different to products that may contain milk, I know some vegans still avoid products with a main contain warning but that wouldn’t make the product not vegan, I shall leave that up to you for your to decide how you feel about products that may contain ingredients.

However Anna you’re right it does contain Hydrolysed Collagen which can either mean a mistake on soap and glory’s communications, that the formula has changed since this blog was last updated or that it is plant based, I’m going to remove it from the list until I find more info out and I will research into this <3

  3. Anna, Looking more into it, it would seem I can only find boots actually listing that ingredient but I think to be safe I would totally avoid the product, the other mascaras listed above do not contain that ingredient and my motto is always if in doubt, avoid. I won’t be re-adding the mascara HD to the list until I know for sure that it is not an animal derived ingredient

    Hope this helps 🙂 xoxo
